Emily Beecroft

Swimmer

Emily Beecroft began her swimming journey in 2010 with the Traralgon Swimming Club, a small country club in Victoria. She was first selected to the Australian National Swimming Team for the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games.

In 2021, she competed at the Tokyo Paralympic Games, where she claimed a silver medal in the Freestyle Relay and a bronze medal in the Medley Relay. Following Tokyo, Emily made a major life move from Victoria to Queensland to further her training with the UniSC High Performance Para Swimming Program based in the Sunshine Coast.

This led to selection for her third Paralympic Games in 2024. At the Paris Paralympic Games, Emily secured a gold medal in the Medley Relay and an individual bronze in the 100m Butterfly.

She was chosen as the 2024 Paris Paralympic Swimming Campaign’s Female Athlete and named as the 2024 Swimming Australia Swimmer’s Swimmer.

She has been awarded the University of the Sunshine Coast Sports Person of the Year for the past three consecutive years and has recently been appointed a Medal of the Order of Australia for her services to sport.
