Grace Gill

Commentator and MC

Grace Gill is a former Australian footballer and is now an expert commentator, football analyst, and MC.

Grace began her playing career in Canberra, making her way through to the Young Matildas and Matildas teams, representing Australia as the youngest of the 2006 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup squad in Russia. Grace spent time abroad, playing in the Czech Republic’s first Division for FC Slovácko.

A foundation member of the A-League Women and two-time Premiership and Championship winning side, Canberra United, Grace amassed 58 appearances for the club and continues to be an important part of the Canberra United community as a part of the coaching support group.

Grace’s entry into the world of televised football came unexpectedly after receiving a last-minute call-up to work alongside the match day commentator in an ABC televised game while she was sidelined with an injury playing for Canberra United.

Grace hasn’t missed a beat since then, working for ABC Radio, ABC TV, Fox Sports, SBS, Network 10, NPLTV, and streaming platforms Paramount + and Stan. Highlights include being the only female co-commentator and pundit in the league for the 2022-23 A-League Men’s season on Network 10, co-commentator on the NSW NPLW Grand Final in September 2022, and expert panelist and co-commentary for the Matildas series v Brazil at CommBank Stadium in October 2021.

Alongside her commentary and pundit work, Grace is also an MC with experience across corporate and sporting events including the UC Walk of Fame, the St Aloysius Annual Football Dinner, and a corporate event for the Manchester United v Melbourne Victory blockbuster in July 2022.

Grace was part of the Channel 7 commentary team for the FIFA Women’s World Cup and was a key member of Channel 10’s broadcast team for the 2023/2024 season A-League coverage. This year she will be seen on the Channel 9 coverage of the Paris Olympics Games.
