Noemie Fox
Canoe Slalom
Noemie Fox OAM is an Olympic gold medal-winning canoe slalom athlete representing Australia on the world stage.
Born in France, Noemie moved to Australia at the age of two as both of her parents were involved in the Sydney 2000 Olympics as coaching staff.
Noemie started competing at the age of 14 and represented Australia at her first Junior World Championships in 2013 where she won gold in the Women’s Canoe team event.
Today Noemie competes across 3 disciplines: Kayak (K1W), Canoe (C1W) & Kayak Cross, and is currently ranked 3rd in the world in Kayak Cross. At the 2022 World Cup in Poland, Noemie won Australia’s first Kayak Cross World Cup medal and made her second World Championship final in the Canoe event. After qualifying for the Australian Olympic team in June 2024, Noemie made her Olympic debut in Paris and became the first ever gold medallist and Olympic champion in Kayak Cross.
Outside of the boat, Noemie completed both a Bachelor of Arts (Media & Communications) and Master of Management at The University of Sydney. She is a strong advocate for breaking down barriers to sport for young people and has worked in partnership with Black Dog Mental Health Institute and the Australian Olympic Committee to deliver mental resilience workshops in schools.
In 2024, Noemie was awarded the prestigious Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for her outstanding contributions to canoe slalom and Australian sport.
A dedicated athlete and role model, Noemie has represented Australia on the international stage, earning numerous accolades and inspiring the next generation of paddlers. Her tireless work promoting the sport, along with her achievements and leadership, has solidified her legacy as a trailblazer in the canoeing community.
